MMOCI Quarterly report for July-September 2016

Quarterly report for July-September 2016

Greetings to all our members and Board Members.  It’s again a blessing to share with you what has transpired in the past 3 months. This report includes the activities, challenges and the way forward.

EVANGELISM
We reached out to Alliance Secondary School in Kabule, Mityana District and communicated to the teenagers about God-fearing, Christian living and moral values.  Specifically about the dangers of premature sexual relations at their age.  We were joined with Voyagers to Africa Director Carla Di Liberti and her son and a Biblical aspect to the topic was presented. Many Mansions of Christ Intl. was given a Sunday at Mityana Pentecostal Church and Stephen preached a message about “What God remembers that we often forget”.  The message was taken well by the members and the youth present at the moment.

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE
We have continued supporting the children with school fees. Many of the children we support will be sitting for their final exams this year. Among them Crispus and Sharon in Primary 7, Sarah in Senior 6 and Isaac who is finalizing his course in Busitema University.  Keep them in your prayers for God to give them success in their final exams.

POULTRY PROJECT
We have continued to save the money for  'MMOCI Mick Chicks Poultry Project' and the savings are now more than half way for the roofing. May God bless Mick Tulk for his continued efforts in seeing this dream come true.

VOLUNTEERS
Many of our volunteers in the U.S. and U.K. are continuing to do an amazing job eg, Brian assisted us with  a 3-month rent payment for October, November and December. Mel has continued supporting three children for school fees. Vanda also contributed for school fees. And Jill has continued sending shoe box gifts for the kids which contain clothing, toys, academic materials, sweets, etc.  May God reward all of our volunteers and may they continue helping us.

CHALLENGES
-We still need more sponsors for school fees in the next term.
-Our Mityana and Soroti Operation permits are due for renewal.
-We need more financial support to carry out general activities of the organization.

WAY FORWARD
-Reach out to more children.
-Apply for the Operation permits.
-Keep mobilizing resources for the operation of the organization.

CONCLUSION
We applaud all of those who have supported us in the last quarter. Be blessed!

Sincerely,

------------------------------

MMOCI Quarterly Report for April-June 2016

Quarterly Report for April-June 2016

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. This has been a blessed and difficult quarter but all-in- all the Lord has been good to us and to the ministry. Philippians 4:19 says that “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in heaven”.  In this report we have noted down the exciting things in the quarter, the activities, challenges and the way forward.

EXCITING THINGS

-A new beneficiary called Faith Ssozi started receiving help for school.
-A beneficiary we have supported for the past 3 years at University completed his courses and will       graduate.
-We finally received our renewal Operation Permit certificate from Mityana District.
-MMOCI offices were moved to a new home on Mubendi Rd.

ACTIVITIES

Evangelism:
Evangelizing children has continued with children attending every first Saturday of the month for Bible Study Classes. They share in learning the Bible and dancing for the Lord.

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

Educational support has continued. Our student in Busitema University completed his studies and will be graduating in October. Thanks for the efforts of all who contributed to his success. Our U.K. supporter Vanda, through the assistance of Jill, has continued helping and contributing to the education of vulnerable children here. Mel, another ongoing U.K. volunteer, started helping another student named Faith Ssozi.  Brother in Christ Ministry has continued to assist 2 local Mityana students with school fees and supplies. At the moment, MMOCI, through its partners, are supporting a total of 11 students ranging from University to Secondary to Primary.  There are still more children on our waiting list for sponsors.  Those who feel moved to help should not hesitate to contact us.
 New beneficiary Faith

David with school supplies

Gloria and Asumpta with donated school supplies

POULTRY PROJECT

We have continued receiving contributions from Mick in U.K. for the poultry house building. We have saved the funds until Mid-January 2017 when we will travel to Soroti to complete roofing and other construction needs.  The savings have reached the half-way mark towards completing the building. We thank God for this blessing.  We have considered naming the poultry project ‘MMOCI MICK CHICKS’ in honor of our biggest supporter of the project.

VOLUNTEERS

Our volunteers in Soroti and Mityana Districts are still helping us, especially with distributing shoebox gifts that are sent by Jill from U.K.  We do appreciate their efforts and the kids are so happy receiving them.  Our U.S. volunteers also continue to help with mailing and personal support. Our resident working volunteer Carla continues to assist 10 vulnerable children in the area with medical and nutritional support.  MMOCI resident supporter Cheryl donated a bed frame to a local orphanage.

CHALLENGES

-Some sponsors who have chosen children to support are not consistent from one school term to the next leaving some kids to be sent home.
-The new MMOCI offices are located on a busy highway and we have suspended future Bible Studies until safe transportation can be found.
-There are still many vulnerable children on our waiting list for school support.

WAY FORWARD

-MMOCI will devise new ways to reach out for evangelism of children, possibly through structured school ministry programs involving Biblical topics.
-Network with more friends, members and partners in development of the organization especially in reaching out to vulnerable children.
-Keep saving funds for the poultry house.
We applaud all of those who have continued supporting the ministry in the last quarter. May God bless you all!

Let's Help Each Other and Honor God

If you say you are a Christan, try your best to act like one. AM I PERFECT? NO WAY! But I try.

Romans 3:10-12English Standard Version (ESV)

10 as it is written:

“None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”

Let us love our neighbors. Right where we are and across oceans and borders. The blessings go both ways. For those who understand this and give freely and faithfully from their hearts, you have honored God in the highest standard. Thank you. For those who truly have nothing to give, then give love and a smile to someone. Check on an elderly person. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Just give from your heart. Pray. God gaves us so many examples in His Word. He is watching. It does matter. eMother Teresa said "If you can't feed the masses, then feed just ONE". Help just ONE. Clothe just ONE. Educate just ONE. Love just ONE.
Helping The Poor (All ESV)

Proverbs 19:17

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

Matthew 5:42

Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.

Acts 20:35

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Luke 14:12-14

He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

Proverbs 22:9

Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

Luke 12:33-34

Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Isaiah 58:10

If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.

Deuteronomy 15:7-11

“If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be. Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, ‘The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your eye look grudgingly on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to the Lord against you, and you be guilty of sin. You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Luke 3:11

And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

Matthew 25:34-46

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? ...

Galatians 2:10

Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

Deuteronomy 15:11

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Proverbs 14:21

Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.

Isaiah 41:17

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

Proverbs 14:31

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

James 1:27

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Matthew 6:1-4

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Luke 21:1-4

Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

Leviticus 19:9-10

“When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.

Matthew 22:37-39

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Leviticus 25:35

“If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you.

1 Timothy 5:8

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Proverbs 28:27

Whoever gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse.

Luke 10:30-37

Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. ...

Deuteronomy 14:28-29

“At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns. And the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.

Psalm 12:5

“Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord; “I will place him in the safety for which he longs.”

Psalm 140:12

I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy.

But the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the beasts of the field may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard, and with your olive orchard.

Matthew 6:24

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Isaiah 58:6-7

“Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

Luke 16:19-31

“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. ...

Isaiah 25:4

For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,

John 16:33

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Psalm 41:1-2

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him; the Lord protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do not give him up to the will of his enemies.

Leviticus 19:15

“You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.

Acts 4:32-35

Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.

The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the sojourner without justice.

Isaiah 58:7

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

Hebrews 13:3

Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.

Psalm 82:1-8

A Psalm of Asaph. God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. ...

John 3:17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Psalm 22:1-31

To the choirmaster: according to The Doe of the Dawn. A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them. To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. ...

Romans 13:1-7

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ...

Hosea 13:14

Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from Death? O Death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion is hidden from my eyes.

Proverbs 26:27

Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling.

John 3:16-17

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

James 2:1-9

My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? ...

Acts 1:1-26

In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” ...

Matthew 10:28

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Deuteronomy 15:4-5 ESV / 6 helpful votes

But there will be no poor among you; for the Lord will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess— if only you will strictly obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all this commandment that I command you today.

1 John 3:16-18

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

2 Thessalonians 3:10

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,

Matthew 23:15

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

Isaiah 58:1-14

“Cry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the judgment of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God. ‘Why have we fasted, and you see it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’ Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers. Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with a wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high. Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the Lord? ...

Psalm 41:1-13

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him; the Lord protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do not give him up to the will of his enemies. The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health. As for me, I said, “O Lord, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you!” My enemies say of me in malice, “When will he die, and his name perish?” ...

Acts 10:1-4

At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort, a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God come in and say to him, “Cornelius.” And he stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.

Acts 9:36-43

Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity. In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.” So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them. But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. ...

Proverbs 21:13

Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

John 13:12

When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you?

Luke 6:21

“Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh
