MMOCI Quarterly Report for October to December 2015

MMOCI FINAL QUARTERLY REPORT-OCTOBER TO DECEMBER 2015

Greetings to all members, volunteers and all the board members. This is the last quarter in the year 2015. This report talks much about the activities carried out within the quarter, challenges and the way forward for 2016

Any surprises in this quarter?
The children in Mityana and Soroti started receiving their Christmas gifts promised from abroad
Gables were finally put on the poultry house and it’s now ready for roofing
We were able to register with Asuret Subcounty in Soroti as a community-based organization (CBO)
Many of UK friends and volunteers chose children to send shoe boxes to in the list provided on our face book page.

ACTIVITIES

EVANGELISM
Our organization continued to evangelize children especially in Mityana. The volunteers in Mityana and Soroti have reached out to the children with the word of God. In Mityana, children also attend bible studies every first Saturday of every month. The team has also reached to the primary schools and to the hospitals. MMOCI was also given a Sunday at Mityana Pentecostal Church again. Children and volunteers performed and ministered in the church on the 6th December 2015.

 POULTRY PROJECT
Mick from U.K. supported us in November with 100 Pounds and it was put towards the poultry house. It helped raise the house to level of the gables and we are currently left with roofing which may cost around $1100 or 770 pounds.  We really pray and hope we can roof it before May 2016. Please keep us in your prayers and with any contribution that comes in we will save it towards the roofing.  It’s still a long way to go even after roofing. We will need to purchase wire, doors, chicks and supplies and to train the staff to get ready for the
work.

VOLUNTEERS
Many of our volunteers in Mityana, Soroti, U.K. and U.S. really helped us a lot in making things happen. U.K. volunteers helped with purchasing gifts for children and mailing them. It was a blessing to all the children we serve in Uganda. Volunteers in Mityana and Soroti helped in delivering the shoe box gifts to the children and taking their photos. Also volunteers helped a lot in contributing their efforts in serving the children during the kid’s Christmas party in Mityana.

CHALLENGES
Lack of funds for the quick completion of the poultry house. We still need lots of prayers
The Mityana operaton permit renewal delayed and we are still waiting for the district to issue us with the  renewed certificate
Many children are also still waiting for their shoe box gifts. Many have delayed due to the slow transportation problem through the postal service

WAY FORWARD FOR 2016
Continue mobilizing funds for the completion of the poultry house
Receive operation permit from the Mityana District authorities
Network and enroll more volunteers to help boost the organization and attract more partners in to support the vulnerable children
Keep evangelizing the children so as to produce children who are Godly in our society
Our appreciation goes to Brother in Christ Ministry, Jill, Mel , Brian in the U.S. and many others who decided to put a smile on the faces of our children, especially with Christmas shoe boxes and many others. Our appreciation also goes to Mick for standing with us all this time in bring up the poultry building to almost the final stage. May God open for you doors as you start the new year 2016.

Yours Sincerely,

Okumu Stephen

Principal Director
